Our City Councilman, Assemblyman, Brooklyn Borough President, and Congressman have all formally recognized the excellence of YGB programming with commendations.

In addition, YGB, and its staff, has received the following honors:

·     ACAFseal_2014 In December 2013, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, the educational arm of the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, presented YGB with the All Children-All Families Seal of Recognition. YGB earned the honor of the HRC Seal by meeting the required criteria for fully inclusive policies and practices in working with the LGBT community.

·      In 2011, Mary Keane, Director received the Hostetter-Habib Family Award from the Family Equality Council. She has also received the Gold Heart Award from ACS for being an Exceptional Foster Parent, among other honors.

·      In October 2007, YGB was awarded the Health & Human Services Children’s Bureau Adoption Excellence Award in the area of Media of Promoting Adoption from Foster Care.

·      Also in 2007, Pat O’Brien won A Congressional Coalition of Adoption Institute “Angel In Adoption” Award.
