You Gotta Believe Responds to Change.org Petition

At You Gotta Believe, we are aware that a change.org petition was launched by a concerned family in the midst of the adoption process, urging the City of New York to restore funding for the critical older youth adoption and permanency services cut by the city as of 3/31/15.

It was neither our intent to intervene nor comment on this process. However, Gladys Carrion, the commissioner of the Administration for Children’s Services, had provided a response that is deeply misleading as well as depicted outcomes that are vastly different than those we have consistently demonstrated.

It is difficult to discern the right action. Yet given the now public nature of this process, we feel it important to set the record straight on behalf of our organization, the youth and families we serve and the larger system.  You can view our response here.
