January 1, 2017
Coney Island, Brooklyn NY
Meet for coffee at Liberation High School gym (19th & Mermaid) anytime after 12 and we will walk over to the beach together at about 12:50.
Every year – staff, youth, families, and supporters and members of the YGB family – plunge into the freezing sea to raise awareness and funds for the thousands of young people who are left out in the cold when we allow them to leave foster care without the lifetime support of an unconditionally committed family.
This year is no exception. Join us at 1:10 pm on New Year’s Day (January 1, 2017), the YGB family will be jumping (or walking, or running) in to the freezing sea at Coney Island, Brooklyn NY (near Luna Park and the boardwalk).
Why? Because, like us, their goal is to make sure that no more teens in foster care are left out in the cold in 2017. And this year’s Penguin Plunge is a part of our 20th anniversary campaign!
If you want to join us in taking the Plunge, please email us. Or just visit our Crowdrise page and set up your own Penguin Plunge fundraiser. Of course, if you can’t make it January 1st, you can support the campaign of any one of our plungers… including the youth advocates of Nobody Ages Out.
Let’s take the plunge in 2017 and go ‘all in’ to make sure that no youth leaves the foster care system without the one thing they were promised: a permanent, loving family.
